Start a Forum
Starting a forum is extremely simple if you are using Lunarpages as your web host. Simple go to your "Control Panel" then scroll down to "Fantastico" on the right side. After clicking on the "Fantastico" link, click on the forum you would like to install under the category of "Discussion Boards".
Lunarpages gives you two choices of forums; SMF (Simple Machines Forum) and phpBB. Both are completely free, but personally I think SMF is the better forum. Security seems to be better, updates are not too often it is easy to use and offers many easy to apply modifications.
To install either forum through Lunarpages, just click on "New Installation" and follow the installation instructions.
Forum Spammers - tired of, or want to avoid spammers as much as possible on your forum? I would suggest you do not let just anyone register, but make it upon "Admin Approval". Before members are approved go to the Stop Forum Spam website and enter their email (at the top right of the page). This will tell you if they have been listed as a spammer. A wonderful service and it's completely free.
